This is an extremely competitive world we live in. There are many avenues we take on the road to success, riches and respect. None are easy and you are more than guaranteed to live by at least one statement, "either you win, or you learn." Pain is a much better teacher than pleasure and if you don't want to repeat the class, then you'd better pay close attention. Taking a loss is inevitable and when you experience it at first, the feeling really sucks. This is the most pivotal moment within the process and at this moment, absolutely nothing matters more than how you react to it. Nothing!
But fear not. There's a natural process to getting past these moments quickly and effectively. The process can be painful but there's nothing gained in staying within a sunken place for any longer than necessary. Instead of taking all of the damage and letting it sink in permanently like a sponge, use that built up tension to snap back harder like a rubber band. 1. Grieving. The first step in your process to get recovery is how you respond to it. Your most natural reaction is to become emotional, since we are emotional beings. There are many people who have taken losses, but few are able to coach you through your experience. 4. Update/Upgrade your routine. It's very necessary to build on the foundation that you've set for yourself. You must run that extra lap. You must add 10 extra pounds to your back squat and your bench press. You must add an extra set to your bicep curls. You must add that extra day to your workout plan.
